The training seminar Stakes, ingredients and strategies for international touring is addressed to artist representatives and performing arts administrators who wish to acquire the necessary skills for the development of foreign markets and for the management of international tours.

The intensive nature of the seminar means that it takes place over five consecutive days.

The main goal of the seminar consists in transmitting the necessary knowledge and skills for the successful implementation of effective strategies in the export of the performing arts. As well, there will be a realistic and practical perspective of organizational development.

After having completed the seminar, the participants will have developed skills in the following areas:

  • Situational analysis, through the use of criteria specific to the performing arts and to international touring
  • The analysis of markets and the evaluation of the relevant documentation
  • The implementation of customized strategies including the design of tools for market development and promotion
  • The evaluation and use of management tools for international touring
  • Knowledge and use of available sources of relevant information

As a result of the training offered in Montreal (1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2008 and 2009), in Mexico (2001), in South Korea (2005), in Finland (2010 and in Norway (2010), CINARS now boasts about 200 “graduates” in performing arts exports!
