Salle Pierre-Mercure
Artistic Direction: Jamie Adkins
World renowned clown, juggler, and comic acrobat, Jamie Adkins, stumbles onstage, desperately trying to become the man he imagines himself to be. Sometimes endearing with his skillfully awkward juggling, his character always ends up touching the hearts of everyone, young and old. A Fool’s Errand is the result of the first collaboration between Jamie Adkins and musician Julie Houle. Thanks to a perfect control of her instrument (tuba), Houle creates an atmosphere where complicity and playfulness are in the forefront. A delicate balance of chaos and control, loneliness and companionship, A Fools Errand, is more about the art of perseverance than the achievement of success. Designer & performer: Jamie Adkins Musician (Tuba): Julie Houle Artistic director: Manon Beaudoin Original Music: Luzio Altobelli Set: Dominique Coughlin Costumes: François St-Aubin Lighting: Rodolphe St-Arneault Technical director: Olivier Rosa Sound engineer: Lionnel Dechamps Artistic Advisor: Krin Haglund Artistic Advisor: Frédéric Combe Producer: Amanda Russell *This show benefited a residency of co-production of the Place des Arts (Montréal, Québec), a residency of creation from La Cascade (Pôle National des Arts du Cirque, France) and a residency at La Maison de la Culture Mercier (Montréal).
